Waterproofing
Consulting

Our consulting includes waterproofing design reviews for new developments, independent building defect investigations and the preparation of practical remediation strategies for existing buildings.

Watershed Projects works across complex building types including multi-storey residential developments, hotels, retirement living, hospitals, education facilities and other large-scale commercial buildings.

In addition to technical waterproofing consulting, we also provide strategic redevelopment and early-stage development advisory services, including site analysis, feasibility analysis, due diligence and pre-construction guidance where systemic building defects or major remediation works are being considered.

These circumstances represent a watershed moment, where redevelopment may offer a more viable long-term solution instead of, or alongside major rectification works.

Waterproofing Design Peer Review

Most water ingress issues originate in design rather than construction, often driven by unrealistic expectations of waterproofing materials and the complexity of their correct application.

Complex interfaces between and within façades, balconies, roofs, podiums, wet areas and below-ground structures are common failure points where incomplete design detailing and misalignment between disciplines frequently introduce significant risk.

We provide independent waterproofing design peer review of project documentation to identify water ingress risks arising from design gaps and coordination issues, informed by site constraints,  environmental conditions and regulatory requirements.

Our reviews assess water-shedding design, material selection and detailing to minimise defect risk and support the buildability of durable, compliant buildings aligned with the National Construction Code and relevant State legislation.

Remedial Consulting

Watershed Projects provides specialist consulting in water ingress investigation and remediation strategy for complex buildings.

Our work often involves advising strata committees and building owners on the diagnosis of water ingress issues, assessment of existing waterproofing systems and development of practical remediation strategies.

Water ingress commonly affects elements such as façades, balconies, podium slabs, roofs, wet areas and below-ground structures.

Our focus is on identifying the underlying causes of water ingress and developing clear, technically robust strategies to rectify the ingress and minimise the risk of recurrence over the long term.
